Rates & costs

Understand the number you see everywhere on this site — and what it does (and doesn’t) guarantee.

3.9% APR Representative rate used in illustrations and the loan calculator.

What “representative” means

At least 51% of customers who take a product are expected to get this rate or better. Your personal APR is confirmed only in an offer after affordability checks.

What the calculator shows

Monthly repayment, total interest and total repayable at 3.9% APR. Figures are illustrative — not a formal quote.

No hidden “gotchas” in the pitch

We lead with fixed-term structure and a clear representative rate so you can compare calmly before you apply.

Ready to lock in a real figure?

Only an application starts underwriting. Browsing rates informs you; applying gets you a decision path.

Is 3.9% APR my guaranteed rate?

No. It is the representative APR for illustrations. Your rate depends on circumstances and is confirmed in any offer or agreement.

Are there arrangement fees?

Product terms are confirmed before you accept an offer. Use the application to receive a clear breakdown of repayments and any applicable charges.

Can I compare terms before applying?

Yes — use the loan calculator and term guides, then apply with your preferred amount and term.

Eligibility

We lend to UK individuals. Situations vary — the only reliable way to know is to apply.

Benefits & Universal Credit

Income from benefits or UC can form part of your affordability picture. See our benefits and Universal Credit pages, then apply.

PIP

PIP recipients can apply. We look at your full income and outgoings. Start on the PIP loans page or go straight to apply.

CCJs

A CCJ does not automatically block you. Declared history is reviewed case by case — apply so underwriting can assess the full picture.

Unemployed

We may still consider applications where other income or support exists. Accuracy on your application matters more than guessing from a help page.

Do you lend to people on benefits or Universal Credit?

Yes — we assess your full income picture. Apply online so we can review your circumstances properly.

What if I have bad credit or a CCJ?

Bad credit and CCJs are considered individually. Explore bad credit loans or CCJ loans, then submit an application.

Do I need to be employed?

Employment helps many applications, but it is not the only path. Declare all income sources accurately when you apply.

What ages and residency do you support?

Loans are for UK individuals. Exact criteria are confirmed during application review.

Applying

About 15 minutes online if your details are ready. Incomplete applications slow everyone down — including you.

  1. Choose amount & term Use the calculator, then pick a range that fits your budget — not the maximum by default.
  2. Submit accurate details Identity, income, outgoings and purpose. Guesswork creates delays and weaker outcomes.
  3. Affordability review We check whether the repayment plan is sustainable before any offer is made.
  4. Offer & funds path If approved, you review terms clearly before accepting. Applying is the only way onto this path.
How long does an application take?

Most people complete the form in about 15 minutes when documents and figures are to hand.

How do I get the fastest decision?

Apply with accurate details, a clear purpose, and documents ready. Incomplete information is the main cause of delay.

What should I prepare?

Recent income evidence, bank details, ID, and a clear statement of what the funds are for. Then open the application form.

Can I track progress?

Use the account portal once you have credentials. New applicants should start with Apply.

Repayments

Fixed-term structures exist so you can plan the calendar — not chase revolving balances.

Terms from 6–60 months

Shorter terms usually mean higher monthly payments and less interest overall. Longer terms ease the monthly load. Compare on loans by term.

Borrow only what you need

Ranges run £1,000–£35,000. Choosing the right band matters more than stretching to the top. See loans by value.

Early repayment

If you want to settle early, ask once you have an agreement. Terms are confirmed before you accept any offer.

Missing a payment

Late repayment can cause serious money problems. Contact support pathways in your agreement early — and use free advice if you’re struggling.

Will my monthly payment stay fixed?

Offers are structured around agreed instalments for the chosen term. Exact figures appear in your personal offer.

What if I can’t afford the repayment?

Do not apply for an amount you cannot sustain. Use the calculator first, then apply with a realistic figure — or seek free advice before borrowing.

Products & situations

Labels help you navigate. Underwriting looks at you — not just the page you clicked.

Which product should I choose?

Pick the closest match to your situation, then apply. We can help align product during review — waiting for the “perfect” label costs time.

Are you a direct lender?

Yes — explore direct lender loans if you want a single accountable journey without broker shopping.

Before you apply

If you’re unsure you can repay, pause. A loan should reduce pressure — not multiply it.

Should I still apply if I’m worried about debt?
